Hi,

I took a Toyota Camry to the 6828 Coit Road,Plano, TX 75023 for inspecting it before buying on Saturday(3/26/2011), the car had a clean history in autocheck. I asked them to do Pre Purchase Vehicle inspection Covering Complete Auto Inspection and Computer Diagnostics.

The Firestone guy told me that the check would take 5 hours to complete so asked to come in the evening. So I left the car there but the dealer who came with me told he had some work near by and stayed which I didn't doubt. The Firestone report said that the car is in good condition and need only battery and tire replacement.

I bought the car on Monday (3/28/2011). After registration I noticed that the air bag and engine warning indicators were on, when i asked about this to the seller, he told it will be like that only. Hence I had to take the car to a Toyota Dealer who told me that the car is wrecked and gave me a estimate of $2500 to fix it now.

I had confirmed his words with another check at a different firestone. When I went back to the same Firestone who certified that the car is good, he told wreck , body damange are not listed in my check list and i cannot find out for u. The seller is not picking the call now. I trusted only the firestone report but never thought that such a trusted company can ditch a customer.

If someone could help me in this case, please mail me at *************@gmail.com. Stay away from the Firestone at Coit and Legacy intersection in plano.

Location: Dallas, Texas

Looks like we got some steve, marshall and charlie for representing firestone :grin .

seems like the owner of the car bribed the firestone to get good report. this is confirmed by the second inspection report. *** firestone as*h**s

Math sounds light you got taken from the person that sold you the car.First off I have used that Firestone for 10 years, very good people there.I think you have to do an alignment check in order to see if you have a bend frame or not,as far as your engine light coming on sounds to me like the person that sold you the car had the light turned off,and from what I understand after so many miles if there is a problem with something the light will come back on.Get your money back from the person that sold you the car and leave the Firestone store alone sounds like they did there job. :cry

No. Had firestone scanned the vehicle they wouldโ€™ve seen โ€˜not readyโ€™ on the obd2 which indicates light was reset and drive cycles not complete to recheck

To the other steve05, that is not going to have someones license taken away. This is a very simple matter that Firestone im sure will be more than happy to help fix.

In the past, if any customer has had issuse they always are willing to fix. All you have to do is get your money back from that firestone and take the car back.

Firestone did not sell you that car. Like I said before, you really need to take it up with the person who sold it to you.

I agree with Steve. The license of these people should be revoked to stop such incidents in future

In that case hope you can file a case against Firestone for not giving you the accurate report. As you have the reports from two different stores of the same company.

I believe the Firestone management would look at your issue if you raise it to them. The license of the mechanics and manager of that store need to be revoked.

oh...man I can't even imagine the situation. As people cannot trust the dealer/private seller we go to Firestone to get True value of the vehicles.

but based on your exp Firestone is not a trustworthy.

I would stay away from them and recommend people to go proper dealer as couple of dollors more than firestone check would save $00000. I feel sorry for you man.

It Seems that person whoever inspected first time is an A**H**e. If he doesn't know how to do inspection better not to do.

It's a minimum Common sense to check the things if the customer asks for complete inspection. I Know some people will mint the money and not to do anything.

I agree with Math, If the mechanic at another Firestone can say that the Vehicle engine is shifted from its place it should have been seen at the first store as well. We had a belief that we can trust the report from Firestone but based on this case, it's not. I would stay away from these people.

I agree with steve05 above. Who ever sold you the car is the one you should be upset with.

Firestone is not a body shop, and they pay attention to the mechanical parts of cars...not body damage. Even at that, a check engine light can come on at any time and your car can break down at any time. Just because someone tells you everything is okay, you should know that there is always risk involved with a used car purchase.

If you want a guarantee, buy new vehicles instead. I've brought my vehicles to this store several times, and I've always received excellent and professional service.

Hi,

I would not be blaming Firestone, if the Manager at my second check haven't told me the truth about the car, where I did only complete vehicle Inspection for $21.99. He told "any mechanic can find that the car is wrecked if he opens the hood as the complete engine parts are shifted towards right and hammer strikes are seen clearly. I don't know what Inspection Coit Firestone did", which covered Complete Vehicle Inspection($21.99 and Computer Diagnostics $79.99).

Sounds like the guy who sold you the car screwd you man. I have been going to the Firestone on Coit for a number of years now and have never had a problem.

You obviously need to just take the car back to the dealer, but the fact that you cant get ahold of them is a little scetchy. As far as Firestone goes, cars break down all the time.

No one can pridict when. I get your fustration though, but I think your putting the blame on the wrong people.
