I am dealing with the same issue I paid close to same cost for my repairs. When I round it off it close to 700.00 dollars.

They keep giving me the run around. I pray to GOD these ppl. are stop in their tracks. Wrong is wrong and right is right.

I serve El Roi, The GOD who sees as well Elohay Mishpat - the God Of Justice: (Isaiah 30:18) . Therefore, Justice will reign for their lack of good service and we pay the cost for what was done wrong in regards to the nature of our vehicles.

Yeah... I work for firestone as well...

but I'd have to disagree with you. First of all, if you're going to convince people to not do business with Firestone, you should practice proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation, they go a long way. Secondly, I'd have to disagree with you about the techs being trained to sell unnecessary repairs. In the end, it does all come down to the individual store or shop manager.

I personally work for a complete *** who does screw people over, and who does have a higher salary than he deserves. That being said, not all of the employees are like him. I personally don't recommend parts that are not needed. I am thorough on engine diagnostics and CVIs, and if I can't tell what is making a noise, then I say so.

Long story short, don't condemn the entire company on account of a few *** As for the markup on the parts...yeah it can be a bit ridiculous, but Firestone IS a business, and it does have a lot of overhead to take care of outside of salaries. If the prices are too much, don't buy the product...simple as that.

Yeah when you guys say a car has an engine knock and it's a timing chain issue . Counter guy just heard the noise stated what I wrote above " engine knock , we can't change the oil because it will " shock the engine " and cause it to seize up .

Oh and stated go ahead drive it till it dies .

All in 10 minutes or less , so lost a customer with a possible 1200 dollar bill . It's the timing chain jackleggs that repair is 10 hours of labor at 125.00 an hour plus parts hmm .

None of you know what your talking about.

Standard business practices are if you buy in volume from a parts store or dealer you get a discount that allows you to mark up parts - its not "retail" as far as labor goes - its posted at the store for everyone to see and usually cheaper than the dealer, but the trade off is that you have a general certified technician working on your car and not a factory trained technician - รขโ‚ฌล“big differencedรขโ‚ฌย and Firestone technician's are paid flag hours like everyone in the business but your low pay in in line with your experience or lack of. And thats what really sucks and this is why your ***.

note รขโ‚ฌโ€œ the only parts any shop buys from a dealer are the parts that they cant get in the after market... so all you people that have American or German cars are having Chinese parts put on your car and don't even know it.

I have to agree with the 2+ year employee. I ran 2 stores, was with the company for 7 years, and finally got fed up with having customers and district *** my head off each day.

Customers are not happy with the pricing structure. District tears you a new one if you don't hit EVERY benchmark. It is a no win situation for the sales people and store management.

I concede that there are many stores and districts that have a much more positive environment. Most of us are not fortunate enough to find ourselves in those situations.

Listen you are full of ***! I worked there and all they do is check for problems to make you aware of them. No one is forcing you to buy anything.

Have you ever seen a $26 spark on a common car? Go to Firestone and you will.

The price matrix is anywhere from 3 1/2 times to double what they buy the part for. ex: if part cost 100 at Advance Auto it will be 200 to customer but what if that same part is 120 at Autozone then it's 240. That's a huge difference! Even though there is a warranty on some parts for lifetime it doesn't matter as most people don't keep their vehicle for more than 5 years and Firestone knows this.

They truly pay their employees *** to sell their dirty work and worked some real jacked up hours.

Oh, if sells are down, hours our cut for salespeople and they have a $200/ hr quota to sell. it's not about the customer, it's about the all mighty dollar!
