Firestone Complete Auto Care - Firestone brake job rip off
Took my car into Firestone as I have had my car serviced there before. I needed brakes and rotars replaced on both axels which previously they quoted around $800.
Today when they replace everything the quote shoots up to over $1400!!! The service guy said I'll help you a little bit by adjusting the price to only $1,320!!! I agreed as this is the first time replacing them and now I do research online and looks like I got ripped off as it should have been around the $800 mark as the first quote was. After driving the car and braking I have to pretty much put the brake all the way to the floor to stop!
Also I noticed the hood wasnt closed completely, so after I looked the mechanic left a part loose under the hood!
Total experience took 3 hours of my life. Now I have to see why these brake pads are so lousy...the ones they replaced were much better even after 90,000 miles of use!
Monetary Loss: $1320.

I took my car in (2008 Dodge avenger) to a south location in Austin (ben white) October 2013. In July 2014 i took my car (to a north location on 620) in because my breaks sounded like it was grinding on metal.
A terrible sound( parts were under warranty according to firestone) As I waited for my car to get serviced a gentlemen that worked there lets me know that they are unable to get a part off and they need to replace a whole other part which will cost me $750 with that there was another part that will cost another $1,000. I told him about my warranty and he continued to tell me that because they couldnt get a part off because it was just to difficult i had to place a whole entire part which meant "new part" and no warranty to cover it. I left that day with my car in even worst condition the Fu&*er$ cracked two roaters that i had to replace and new brakes. I will never take my car to firestone.
they initially Fu*&ked my first break job and they destroyed my breaks plus other things in an attempt to get more money out of me.
I will make sure everyone knows how screwed up this company is and will post every where i possibly can.
Went in with a coupon for a $99 front brake job. An hour later they called me over with a quote for over $2,400. I told them no thanks and left.
